Meet The Team

Joanne Ellwood is the Registered Manager assisted by her Daughters Rebecca Riley who is the Deputy Manager, Rachael Marshall who is the Finance Manager and Bethany Northin who is one of the Senior Carers. Kath and Ian Ellwood established the business in 1987 and put there life and soul into making Sal Royd what it is now. They have now sadly passed away and left it to Joanne, Rebecca, Rachael and Bethany to run.

There is a great team of staff ranging from cook, housekeeping, activity coordinators to carers and senior carers. There are also Champion Carers in the home. This is where members of our staff are the ‘go too’ person for certain aspects of care. Champion Carers include: ‘Dignity’ Champion, ‘Dementia’ Champion, ‘End of Life’ Champion and a ‘Well Being’ Champion. Further information can be found on the ‘Champions’ Board inside the home.

All the staff are either holders of NVQ qualifications or are working towards them. They have all had CRB and Safe Guarding Authority checks. All staff are qualified in Dementia care, Moving and Handling, First Aid and many more. Many of the staff certificates are available for visitors to see in the hallway and Joanne Seymour can inform you, if necessary, of all the staff training that has been completed.

Most of the staff live locally and are familiar with the area which is helpful to the residents. There’s always two care staff on duty on a night and three during the day. The home is fully committed to staff learning and development. First and foremost, the staff are here to care for the residents, make them comfortable and feel at home.
